During senior weekend you shared fond memories with people you spent eight semesters getting to know. You walked across the stage to receive your diploma or in my case you walked across a creaky stage in the oldest building at the university because it rained. Nevertheless, you paid your dues and graduated from college…only to find yourself looking for work. So after four years of term papers, all-nighters, and an occasional party or two or three, what’s the next step
Unlike many of my friends I didn’t have a secured job with a diversified 401K Plan and health benefits. I did, however, have a secured internship with a major thought leadership corporation, which I was and still am grateful for, but after seven months I wanted those benefits, that corporate card, and diversified 401K Plan. While I did receive my ultimate goal, in those seven months I learned a few valuable things.
