Size Does Matter…
I think I have told the story of my life after I graduated from college on the site before, but in case I didn’t, here is the Spark Notes version. I graduated from college and decided that I would live in LA. I wanted to work in entertainment and felt like Los Angeles was I needed to be to start establishing contacts within the industry. So, three months after graduation, without a job or a place to live, I loaded my car and drove cross country to begin my Los Angeles experience. I ended up crashing with a friend and within a week landed my first job at a very small company in Burbank. Looking back now, it’s funny that I even got the job because I thought I was going to interview to work at a gym and was not prepared at al, but that’s neither here nor there, lol. I was just so excited to be working “in the industry”. I really enjoyed my job and the opportunities working in Los Angeles for a small company provided me. I pretty much shaped what my job would be and got to learn so many parts of the company. In addition to that I was able to get to know working entertainment professionals, and in the process, I also developed my networking, communication and writing skills. Fast forward to my first job in New York, where I worked for an extremely large company, and the experiences are like night and day.
